Checklist: serving the clientele of International Geneva

  • Know the status of international civil servants and diplomats, in particular their tax privileges and immunities, and the consequences these have for banking relationships.
  • Adapt account-opening and verification procedures to the particular identity documents and residence permits of this clientele.
  • Understand the specific needs of organisations, funds and foundations: multi-currency treasury management, payments to high-risk countries, investment governance.
  • Apply the anti-money laundering rules and the sanctions regimes to flows destined for countries in crisis, with particular attention to humanitarian organisations.
  • Monitor developments in the funding of the organisations and anticipate the effects of restructurings on the clientele.
  • Ensure consistency between the institution’s practices and the city’s international vocation, a source of shared reputation.
